Now THAT'S Protection!

Almost all of us have heard about the Armor of God. "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Ephesians 6:13-17 But do you really know how to apply them into your life and use them? Well, get ready because you about to get full (well, almost full) instructions on how to use them. Here we go!!

1. Belt of Truth Let's all tell the truth. We've all told many, many lies. Telling lies can be like pants that are too big. They keep on slipping (eeeekkk!). So let's all buckle up our belts of truth so we don't tell lies (or lose our pants). Always tell the truth so you will gain your trust with others. But telling the truth may be hard (By the way, there is no such thing as a"white lie"). The average person will tell about 2 or 3 lies in 15-minute conversation! (Note: This is true) A good book for solving this problem is Proverbs. It's like an advice column. All the helpful things in these verses will keep your tounge pure. "The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy." As you journey through Proverbs, make sure you don't lie.

2. Breastplate of Righteousness A man who is righteouss is a man who always does good and pure things. Doing bad things won't get you too far in Christianity. "Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right." Proverbs 20:11 You must have righteouss acts. People will know you for your righteouss acts. The LORD will reward you for you righteouss acts. Your righteouss acts mean alot to God. It's very important tot be a righteouss man!

3. Shoes of the Gospel of Peace

Do you have people in your life you can never seem to get peace with? In fact, I have 2 out 3 brothers I will have at least one arguement with per day. "Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you." 2 Corinthians 13:11 Our God gives us peace, and he wants peace on this earth. If you lived in a world where it was argue, quarrel, fight - all the time??All of us need peace in our lives-even all you outgoing ones in the crowd(including me). So be a peacemaker!

4. Sheild of Faith

Ephsians 6:16 says with the sheid of faith you can "extinguish all flaming arrows from the evil one." It's true. When Satan sends arrows of fear and doubt to us, we shall block them with the sheild of faith and they will bounce right back at him. "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1 God wants you to put your faith in Him. Here are some examples: Don't think your car has enough gas to make it downtown? Put your faith in the Lord. Don't think you'll pass the test/exam? Put your faith in the Lord. It really helps.

5. Helmet of Salvation

You know you are saved by Jesus Christ, God's one and only son. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." You did not save yourself, it was by Jesus. Salvation is forgivness of sins, a free gift from God, and obtained by beleiving that Christ Jesus died for our sins. Jesus wants everyone to accept the free gift of salvation. "He wants everyone to be saved. He wants them to come to know the truth." 1 Timothy 2:4 Accept that free gift today!

6. Sword of the Spirit

The sword of the spirit is the Word of God (as stated in verse 17). We can use the Bible as a sword against Satan. Here are some verses that give an example. The setting is the tempting in the desert when Jesus was praying and fasting. " The devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread."
Jesus answered, "It is written, 'Man doesn't live only on bread.' "—(Deuteronomy 8:3)
Then the devil led Jesus up to a high place. In an instant, he showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world. He said to him, "I will give you all their authority and glory. It has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. So if you worship me, it will all be yours."
Jesus answered, "It is written, 'Worship the Lord your God. He is the only one you should serve.' "—(Deuteronomy 6:13)
Then the devil led Jesus to Jerusalem. He had him stand on the highest point of the temple. "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down from here. It is written, " 'The Lord will command his angels to take good care of you. 11 They will lift you up in their hands. Then you won't trip over a stone.' " —(Psalm 91:11,12)
Jesus answered, "Scripture says, 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.' " When the devil finished all this tempting, he left Jesus until a better time." Luke 4:3-13
You see, Jesus didn't just say like , I know this saying, or something. He said, "It is written" or "The Scripture says". And it says that Satan left Jesus until a better time. He peirced Satan with that Biblr and Satan left him because Jesus won! We can use the Bible as a sword too. So I guess there's only one thing to say: Draw swords, everyone!

And there you have it! Full instruction on the full Armor of God! Hope you know how to use them in the future!
