Rubbing In

Hello again! Today I started my very first oil pastel project. It is (going to be) a bed of impatiens(which are a type of flower, just FYI). It's going great. Now in oil pastel drawing, you usually rub in the color and smudge it. Just like that, we need to start rubbing good habits into our lives. It's true, all of us have or have had bad habits. Some common ones are biting nails, chewing hair etc...(I won't go too far) Anyway, we should focus on rubbing in on good habits. And now for some "rubbing in" FAQs. Here we go!

1. What should I rub in on?

There are so many good qualities to rub in on. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23 Those are some good things to rub in on. Others can be humility willigness(to do God's will), compassion, and obeying. For even more ideas, try reading the Epistles. Paul's letters are really encouraging rub-in messages.

2. How do I rub in?

Well, one of the best ways to rub in is to read God's word and then apply to your life. " How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to thy word." Psalm 119:9 This doesn't just apply to young people. It applies to all people. If the Bible says to not steal, then don't. If it says to be kind, then do that. If you read the Bible often, it can become pretty obvious what to do.

3. What if it does not work?

Keep trying. Rubbing in may take awhile. Just keep reading the Bible. Another helpful trick is WWJD(what would Jesus do?). In difficult situations, think, what would Jesus do? Doing this will help you alot. In oil pasteling (which is not a word), sometimes you have to go back and do things again. Don't be discouraged. Ask the Lord for help to rub in. He will surely help you!

And that's it for the FAQs. There are lots of other questions, but hey, this blog post can't go on forever. Keep rubbing in on good qualities! Bye!

Also, going totally off the subject, I'm going to Silver Birches Kicd's Church tonight. I went yesterday too, and it was really good. I can't wait!
